Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

Selena Gomez and Michael B. Jordan were at courtside during the Lakers vs. Nets' recent game.

The Los Angeles Lakers are one of the biggest teams in the NBA. They have an unmatched fan following from around the world, and one big reason for it is the fact that the organization is located in Los Angeles, the home of Hollywood.

There are many popular celebrities who support the Los Angeles Lakers and can be seen watching the game from the sidelines from time to time. In the Lakers' most recent matchup against the Brooklyn Nets , the camera spotted two Hollywood superstars, Michael B. Jordan and Selena Gomez.

The two Hollywood stars may have expected to see the Purple and Gold win, but Kyrie Irving and the Nets had other ideas. It was a one-sided victory for the Brooklyn Nets as the Lakers fell to a concerning 23-28 record.

Ashley Nicole Moss Defends Selena Gomez From Mean Comments

After seeing Selena Gomez's clip from the Lakers vs. Nets game, many may have noticed that Gomez looks a bit different from what fans are used to seeing her. But actually, she is suffering from an autoimmune disease called Lupus.

Many fans weren't aware of her situation and unnecessarily spewed mean comments at her. But NBA analyst Ashley Nicole Moss defended Gomez by explaining the situation via Twitter.

all you dusty men in the comments calling Selena Gomez names are corny. she has Lupus and if y’all bothered to pick up a book every now and then — you would know how that affects the body.

Selena, you’re beautiful honey!

Lupus impacts a person's own immune system and attacks its own tissues and organs. That is the reason why Selena Gomez looks a bit different. Hats off to Nicole Moss for standing up for Gomez and defending the Hollywood star. As for the fans who were mean to Gomez, a little research about the disease could have saved them from embarrassing themselves.
