Andrew Reynolds came back home to Lakeland, Florida, this past weekend to help break in something his hometown has been waiting on for decades—a proper skatepark.

The grand opening of the brand-new Lakeland Skatepark brought out the community in a big way, and having Reynolds there made it a full-circle moment. The Boss really put Lakeland on the map, as far as I'm concerned, reminding the world that some of skateboarding’s heaviest hitters came from small towns like just like this. Check it out:

Team Pain Skateparks handled the build (and shared this 411VM-esque park edit), so you already know the design and construction are on point: proper transitions, smooth 'crete, unique obstacles and plenty of room for the next generation to grow into. Boom!

The edit might be short and sweet, but honestly, I think it captured the day perfectly. And again, with Reynolds in the mix, the locals ripping, and even a cameo from Brian Schaefer of Skatepark of Tampa, it looked like the town of Lakeland did it proper.

Closing out the video, Reynolds said Lakeland Skatepark was "one of the best parks I've ever skated." So if The Boss is making that claim, you know it's real. And judging by the edit, he certainly isn't lying—this place looks sick! Check the edit and see why this new park is already making waves.
