Alabama football still has a chance to reach the SEC Championship and make it to the College Football Playoff after losing to Oklahoma.
SEC college football analyst Cole Cubelic provided an updated look at multiple scenarios where the Tide could be playing in Atlanta for a conference championship in a few weeks. Alabama will first have to beat Auburn to finish the season 7-1 in SEC play.
After losing to the Sooners, the Tide no longer controls its own destiny, so it will need help from other teams. According to Cubelic, Alabama needs to beat Auburn, and the Tide needs Texas A&M to lose to Texas on Nov. 28 or Ole Miss to lose to Mississippi State on Nov. 28.
Cubelic also highlights Alabama can get into the conference title game if the Georgia Bulldogs and the Tide finish the season in a two-way tie. The Crimson Tide would get the nod over the Bulldogs because they beat them earlier in the season.

Another scenario to monitor is a possible three-way tie between Alabama, Georgia and Ole Miss. This scenario would take the Tide’s head-to-head loss over Georgia out of the equation. Conference opponents’ records would then decide who gets to play in Atlanta.
Alabama still has a lot to play for and needs to bounce back fast from its lost to Oklahoma.
