Some know of the Manning family, some don't.
If you're new here, let's recap how Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning is tied to one of the most talented football families in history. Arch's grandfather, Archie, was a two-time NFL Pro Bowler and spent most of his professional career with the New Orleans Saints. He earned numerous honors with the Saints, including NFC Player of the Year in 1978.
Archie had three children: Cooper, Peyton, and Eli. Cooper was the oldest and was a very talented wide receiver but had to end his career early due to a spinal stenosis diagnosis while in high school. Peyton went on to play at Tennessee while Eli followed in his father's footsteps at Ole Miss.
Cooper ended up having three children years before Peyton and Eli began to start a family. Arch is the middle child of Cooper and Ellen, born in 2004. Their eldest daughter, May, was born in 2002 and Arch's younger brother Heid was born in 2006.
Peyton and Eli ultimately became two successful quarterbacks in the NFL. The eldest won two super bowls with two different teams and was a five-time NFL MVP, while Eli won two super bowls with the New York Giants.
Arch certainly has a tough path to follow. However, early indications hint that he may end up being the most talented athlete of the entire family. Arch was the No. 1 overall recruit in the nation for the 2023 recruiting class and in limited action with the Longhorns last season, he showed off his athleticism and leadership.
No. 1 Texas will travel to Columbus to face No. 3 Ohio State in Week 1 for one of the biggest games of the season. If there's one thing we can count on, it's that the Manning pedigree is strong and Arch will perform as expected.
