Roger Federer has won more Wimbledon crowns than any other man in history as he dominated the grass court Grand Slam in the 2000s and 2010s.

The star won eight Wimbledon titles between 2003 and 2017, which made up a significant portion of his 20 Grand Slams in his career.

Wimbledon has become a social hub for some of the biggest celebrities, and Federer has played in front of some of the biggest names from sport, Hollywood, and beyond.

The Swiss star played Marin Cilic in 2006 and was watched by Manchester United legend David Beckham.

Roger Federer didn’t get nervous in front of David Beckham at Wimbledon

Federer maintained his trademark level of cool when he spoke about Beckham watching him after he defeated Cilic on Centre Court.

Speaking at the Wimbledon press conference, he said: “I didn’t see them before the match, didn’t see them after the match, didn’t speak to them before the match, didn’t speak to them after the match.

Federer was positive about Beckham watching him in the stands of the famous grass court tournament though. He added: “It was nice to see him there.”

The star said he didn’t get nervous in front of Beckham, or any other celebrity, watching him play the sport that made him famous.

“At the end of the day today what makes me nervous is really legends of our sport. That’s the only thing that still gets me nervous, when I see guys sitting watching my match.

“When I see them watching, I feel like I better play well. You don’t want to disappoint legends of our sport.”

Federer reached the Wimbledon semi-final in 2016, but his tournament was ended at the hands of Milos Raonic. Andy Murray lifted the trophy for a second time that year.
