Both teams have a second chance to continue in the tournament after falling in the quarterfinals and will face each other in the Contender’s bracket on the second day of the 2023 Pac-12 Beach Volleyball Championships. The winner of this match will face Stanford or California in the championship game.

USC, seeded second, obtained an upset in a closely contested match that ended 3-2 in favor of California, the third-seeded. UCLA, the top-seeded team in the tournament, suffered their first-ever loss to Stanford, the host team, by a score of 3-2.
