It looks like The Bunch of Jerks is at it again.

While fans in Montreal were hostile to Jesperi Kotkaniemi for signing the Hurricanes offer sheet, he got his revenge by scoring in Thursday night’s 4-1 victory over the Canadiens.

The Canadiens are now 0-5-0, losing their first five games of a season for the first time since the 1995-96 campaign. You would think that the Canes inflicted enough pain to the Habs and their fans to last an entire season.

Well, you would be wrong.

Hurricanes create website to mock the Canadiens

The Hurricanes social media team posted a link to a new website they created after the game was over. It took you to a website asking “Did the Habs Lose?” This morning, the website was removed. It is unknown if the Canes willingly took it down or were asked to by the NHL.

For Kotkaniemi, his third-period goal was both his first with the Hurricanes and a full-circle moment in his return to Montreal. He spent his first three NHL seasons with the Canadiens, but Montreal chose not to match when Carolina signed the forward to a one-year, $6.1 million offer sheet during the offseason.

“It felt really good,” Kotkaniemi said. “It was a big relief after those first two games. But it was a great feeling to get it over here too.”

Did the Hurricanes go too far this time? I guess it depends on who you ask.

I for one wasn’t a pick fan of this particular move.
