Help is on the way, Braves fans. While Ian Anderson will likely only miss two starts, breakout pitcher Huascar Ynoa has been out since mid-May after punching the dugout and breaking his hand. Both guys could be getting back into Atlanta’s rotation soon:

Getting Anderson back is huge; he has arguably been the steadiest presence in Atlanta’s rotation all season. I wasn’t worried about him, considering he’s only dealing with shoulder inflammation. However, Ynoa is a more intriguing addition. He appears to be on the same early-August timeline that we got a few weeks ago. With Atlanta’s bullpen struggling and no natural spot available, perhaps Ynoa could pitch out of the pen for a few weeks while he gets warmed back up. The Braves will still need to add some bullpen arms, but maybe Ynoa could fill that role when he returns. Hopefully, he’s effective, and the broken hand has no long-term effects.
