The Nebraska women’s basketball team won its fifth straight game on Sunday, taking down the Chattanooga Mocs 66-42 at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
The Mocs won the Southern Conference last season but struggled agains the Big Red.
Alexis Markowski led the Huskers with 18 points and eight rebounds but it was Nebraska’s defense that was really the standout on Sunday.

The Mocs shot just 34% from the field and 21.1% from deep.
Chattanooga hung with the Huskers early on, trailing by only three after one quarter. However, the Huskers then started to tighten the screws and pull away.
Nebraska’s lead expanded to nine by halftime and 14 after three quarters.
The Big Red shot 41.9% from the field and 32.1% from three, and all 10 Huskers who got on the court scored and tallied at least one rebound and one assist. Aside from Markowski, Callin Hake was the only other Husker to reach double digits in points, with 10.
The Huskers (10-1) now are off until Saturday, when they’ll finish the non-conference slate with a game at 25th-ranked Georgia Tech. Tipoff in that game is set for 4:30 p.m.
The rest of Nebraska's non-conference schedule will then start on Dec. 29.
