Ever since he hung up his racket after the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, British tennis star Andy Murray has tried to remain close to the sport, even taking up coaching for a bit. However, the former World No.1 appears to be enjoying his free time, as he recently admitted he is not in a hurry to resume working.

After dealing with several hip injuries and going under the knife, Murray chose to retire at the 2024 Olympics. Teaming with compatriot Dan Evans, the British duo made it to the quarterfinals before losing to third-seeded Americans Taylor Fritz and Tommy Paul, thus ending Murray's professional career.

Since his retirement, the 38-year old has returned home to spend time with his family. However, the three-time champion was coaxed out of retirement by rival Novak Djokovic, who employed Murray's services as his coach during the 2025 ATP season.

During their collaboration, Djokovic reached the semifinals of the Australian Open and finished runner-up at the Miami Open. However, the duo would part ways in May, with Murray returning to focus on other business ventures.

Murray admits to enjoying quality time with his wife and kids

In addition to improving his golf swing, the two-time Wimbledon champion has been spending more time in his hometown of Dunblane. Murray was recently appointed the patron of The Dunblane Centre, a local charity established using donations sent from around the world following the aftermath of the Primary School Tragedy in 1996.

Although he would like to eventually move back to his hometown, Murray revealed his primary goal was to spend more time with his kids. After going through the rigors of competing on the ATP Tour, the Scot admitted he was making an easy transition to retirement life.

"A lot of athletes, when they finish playing, you’ve had this routine that you’ve been doing for the last 25 years of your life, and then that’s all gone, but my new routine is with the children, and they keep me busy," said Murray. “I’ve really not missing playing at all because of my family.
"I don’t currently have a job. I’m pretty quiet during the week when the kids are at school. We get up and do what all families do: try to get our kids out of the house on time and drop them off, and I always try to be there for pick up. I felt like my relationship with them over the last year has gotten strong and stronger."
