'I lost the freaking game,' Daniil Medvedev loses his cool in Monte Carlo after meltdown at chair umpire, Andrey Rublev-style
Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Daniil Medvedev once again loses his cool during his first match at the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters. In a high-intensity match, the Russian was once again involved in some exchanges with the umpire.

After a clean first set, the Russian was in complete control of the game, as he continued the domination in the second set as well.

However, during a game, the ball supposedly went out, but according to the Hawkeye, it showed in, costing Medvedev the game. Even though he was in the lead, Medvedev did not like to lose a game for no reason, as he complained to the umpire about it.

Medvedev was seen continuously shouting at the umpire that the ball was out. Despite the umpire’s attempts to explain to the Russian that it was, Medvedev refused to listen and his voice resonated from the mic.

I lost the freaking game. It's a freaking sport man. Shouted Medvedev during the side shift

Medvedev doesn’t stop here, as she slams the umbrella out of frustration. Not only did he smack the umbrella, but tried to break it. He was frustrated about losing a game but had to give in eventually, resuming the game.

Daniil Medvedev cruises past Gael Monfils to set up clash with best friend Karen Khachanov

Russian pro Daniil Medvedev gets the better of his first match opponent Gael Monfils. It was one of the highlights of the day, as two good ATP stars battled it out early on. While the stats were leaning towards the Frenchman, it was Medvedev, who stole the show with his dominance.

Other than the argument with the umpire, it was a picture-perfect day for the Russian, who started his clay court season with a bang. With this, he made it to the Round of 16 at Monte Carlo and will face one of his best friends on tour.

Medvedev will face Karen Khachanov for a place in the quarter-finals. Both the players are in decent form this year, as they promise another interesting encounter.

His Russian compatriot is fresh off a great match, bouncing back from a set down to win the match. This is a game to look forward to as two best friends clash again.
