A top in-state recruit the Wisconsin football staff has kept a close eye on recently posted a potential hint in regards to cutting down schools.

Korz Loken, the current top ranked 2027 recruit in Wisconsin, is a four-star tight end with explosive athleticism and a huge frame. The 6-foot-5-inch, 220-pound tight end is the 109th ranked recruit in the 2027 class with 14 scholarship offers. Wisconsin, Florida State, Auburn, Minnesota, Iowa State, and Notre Dame are all programs that have extended a scholarship offer to Loken.

Loken quickly became a top target for the Wisconsin football staff within the 2027 class, but with major national offers from programs like Notre Dame, Auburn, and Florida State, keeping the recruit close to home could be difficult. Recently, Loken posted on social media a new image of all 14 scholarship offers along with a caption of “big decisions coming soon” with preparations for the upcoming season looming.

While keeping Loken home could be difficult for the Wisconsin football staff, making an early impression with the recruit will be key towards landing a commitment in the future.

The tight end is not just another in-state recruit but rather a potential top talent that future classes may not possess. Loken is tall, physical, and dynamic play-maker at tight end which has set the athlete apart from other recruits. Currently, Loken is the seventh ranked tight end in the 2027 class and that is largely due to the athleticism the recruit provides at the position.

On the field, Loken runs a 4.7 40-yard dash with great hands and quick open field moves that make for a difficult player to stop. The tight end is too fast for most linebackers but too physical for many defensive backs as the athlete is an instant mismatch. Loken is not just an open field player either, but rather a complete tight end and someone who can reliably receive the football without issues or lay down a block with ease.

Often the gritty aspects of playing certain positions such as tight end go unnoticed and many players do not enjoy blocking anymore. Loken, however, has a deep appreciation for laying out a defender and pushing open a running lane when needed.

The willingness to do everything on the field has been something that has drawn the Wisconsin football staff closer to the tight end. The difficulty, however, will be in landing a commitment from Loken down the road as the recruit has already cracked the national rankings. Even if Loken cuts down his list in the future like he has hinted at, other programs are bound to offer to recruit as the process is still long from over.
