Indianapolis Colts welcome Caitlin Clark after being drafted first overall by Indiana Fever in 2024 WNBA Draft
Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

Caitlin Clark has become an inspiration for many and has proved herself to be one heck of a basketball player. So it came as no surprise when the former Iowa star was selected with the first overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft.

And she is headed to play for the Indiana Fever

So the Indianapolis Colts, took a moment to welcome the newest member.

"CC in the circle City.

Welcome to Indy, @CaitlinClark22!," they wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Clark is looking to help the Fever get back to the postseason for the first time since 2016 and will be joining the 2023 first overall pick, Aliyah Boston in Indiana.

And she is likely bringing a whole new fanbase to the Fever. Clark was a large part of the reason for the increased viewership during women's college basketball this past season, with the national championship game having a record 18.9 million viewers.

Clark has set numerous records during her college career, including scoring 3,951 points — the most ever in NCAA men’s or women’s Division I history. She also broke the record for 3-pointers in a single season, and has won numerous different Player of the Year Awards throughout the past two seasons.

So the Circle City is getting a good one. Now let's see if she is at any Colts games this season. She's is a known Chiefs fan, but all of this means her fandom should be switching.

Let's just get her a Chiefs jersey.
