Cam Ward's exhibition reps have officially come to a close. The rookie quarterback and the Tennessee Titans offense finished their preseason on a high note against the Minnesota Vikings.
No touchdown passes for the No. 1 overall pick, but two touchdown drives in three total games.
While his collection of skill talent might not be up to par, Ward looked perfectly at ease in the seven offensive series he led during Tennessee's three exhibition contests.
A 13-play, 85 yard scoring drive for the Titans was capped off by running back Julius Chestnut punching it in from the one-yard line. Ward completed passes for Van Jefferson for 17 yards and Elic Ayomanor for gains of 13 and 6 through the air. The Tennessee ground game with Chestnut and Kalel Mullings did the rest.
Ward finished the night 3-of-4 passing for 36 yards and a rating of 102.1.
In total, Ward completed 10-of-19 for 145 yards and an aggregate rating of 81.3 in his preseason appearances. The Titans coaching staff has been more than satisfied with the work this year's first-round pick was able to get with fellow rookies and veterans alike. Pass protection for Ward might be the bigger story, with Tennessee offensive line units allowing only one sack of Ward in three games.
