Marcus Thuram soaked up the limelight as the Inter Milan headline performer in last night’s win over Torino.

Speaking to DAZN via FCInterNews, the French forward put the team’s success over individual awards.

It was a memorable debut for Cristian Chivu as Inter manager.

Indeed, the Nerazzurri hammered Marco Baroni’s side 5-0 at the start of the new Serie A campaign.

Meanwhile, Marcus Thuram regained his best form, inspiring the San Siro club to a dominant victory.

With two goals, Thuram won the ‘Man of the Match’ award.

However, he wasn’t the only shining light in the Nerazzurri shirt.

New signing Petar Sucic amazed on his debut, while Ange-Yoan Bonny scored in his first league appearance for Inter.

Furthermore, captain Lautaro Martinez got on the scoresheet after pouncing on Torino’s mistake at the back.

Once again, the famous Thu-La duo laid the groundwork for Inter’s win.

Yet, Thuram insists the Serie A giants are more than just the two of them.

Marcus Thuram Addresses Media after Inter Milan Thrashing of Torino

“I don’t think Inter is just about ThuLa,” Thuram said after the game. “We’re only two strikers.

“There are others on the bench, and as I always say, the important thing is that Inter wins,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Thuram family was in the stands, particularly Marcus’s brother, Khephren, and father, Lilian.

Asked to whom he dedicated his second goal, Thuram replied: “To both, because they always tease me about my heading.

“I missed one early in the match, and when I scored, I immediately thought of them.”

However, the 27-year-old center-forward refuses to let complacency creep in despite a statement win.

Instead, he calls for caution.

“It’s only the first game, as Bastoni said. We’ll try to do our best for Inter and take it one match at a time.”
