Inter still have hope that they will be able to agree a transfer of Borussia Monchengladbach striker Marcus Thuram during the January transfer window.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInter1908, who report that the Nerazzurri are still strategizing on beating the competition for the 25-year-old’s signature, although signing him for a fee wouldn’t be easy without making sales first.

The biggest obstacle to Inter signing Thuram could well be the fact that so many other top clubs around Europe are targeting the Frenchman on a free transfer when his current contract with Gladbach runs out at the end of June 2023.

Accordingly, one consideration within Nerazzurri’s strategy as far as their pursuit of the former Giungamp player has been to try and sign him for a fee in January.

Even the small fee needed to convince Gladbach to let Thuram to leave in January would still require that sales first be made.

However, according to the Gazzetta, the Nerazzurri do still believe.
