While the Oklahoma Sooners are making a major push to land their big fish at quarterback in Bowe Bentley, they aren't done at adding other quarterbacks to the roster.
One such name is an unheralded quarterback prospect that virtually nobody knew about until a clip from On3 surfaced, highlighting his teammate, wide receiver Jabari Mack.

While everyone acknowledged the impressive catch, the comments were immediately filled with people wondering, "Who in the world threw that pass"? Indeed, it baffled many, as he didn't have a profile on any of the major recruiting sites.
His name is Jackson Fields, a completely unranked player who plays for Destrehan High School in Destrehan, Louisiana, a town with a population of just over 11,000 people. Nobody really seemed to know who he was...until now.
Within a couple of days of the video going viral, Fields has been invited to numerous summer recruiting camps, including one by the Oklahoma Sooners.
Thanks @arbuckle_ben for the camp invite! I will be at @OU_Football on June 5th @CoachVenables @JimNagy_Sooners @Coach_Kuz @OUInsider @SoonerScoop @Eddie_Rado @Bdrumm_Rivals @ParkerThune pic.twitter.com/R2iJYwBHsh

Fields has received camp invites from the Sooners, as well as Florida State, Alabama, Tulane, and LSU since the video went viral. For a quarterback who was getting offers from Millsaps and West Georgia, the shift feels staggering to see. It's an awesome story.
It's a testament to the oddity and randomness of recruiting, but it proves that if you're talented enough, a school will find you, no matter how late.
While none of these schools have offered Fields, these invitations give him the chance to put himself on the map in front of some of the best programs in college football, something many players can only dream of. If he can go out and prove his talent in front of these evaluators, whether it's Oklahoma or someone else, who knows what avenues that could open up for him as part of the class of 2026.
For now, you can bet that he'll have a profile on the major recruiting sites here pretty soon.
