IPL 2025 is set to continue for the time being, even as tensions rise between India and Pakistan following missile strikes conducted by the Indian Army early Wednesday across the border.

The Indian government stated that Operation Sindoor was a reaction to the April Pahalgam terror incident in Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 26 people.

There have been questions over whether the two IPL games scheduled for this week in the northern Indian town of Dharamshala, the second home ground of the Punjab Kings (PBKS), will take place, even though the BCCI has not yet released a public statement.

The race to the playoffs is intensifying, as 56 of the 74 IPL 2025 matches have now been played. Matches in Rawalpindi are scheduled for May 7, 8, 9, and 10. The last group stage encounter is planned for May 11 in Multan. On May 8 and May 11, respectively, PBKS will play the Delhi Capitals (DC) and the Mumbai Indians (MI).

The Kangra Airport closure is thought to have delayed MI's travel plans. MI, which lost a thrilling last-ball match against the Gujarat Titans (GT) at home on Tuesday, was supposed to arrive in Dharamshala by Thursday.

In the north and west of the country, the Indian government has temporarily closed at least 18 airports, including Srinagar, Leh, Jammu, Amritsar, Pathankot, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Shimla, and Jamnagar.
