Jake Paul donated $500,000 to help save Ben Askren’s life after the latter needed a double lung transplant.
Askren was hospitalized due to his battle with pneumonia. Things got so severe that he required a double lung transplant to survive. Reports indicated that the procedure would cost $2 million. Things were complicated further since Askren’s health insurance was not sufficient to cover the cost of this. Following his fight with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., Paul was vocal about how he would try to help the Askren family.
They have a history since Jake and Ben boxed each other in 2021. Paul came out victorious, as his boxing career has only gotten stronger since then. However, Jake stepped up to the plate as he donated $500,000 to help Askren have the procedure. The actions were kept largely under wraps until The Rugby League Report confirmed that Jake had made the donation. While The Problem Child may divide boxing fans, his actions here have won the acclaim of many fans. Amando Serrano, who is signed to Jake’ MVP, also praised him.
“Whether you like or hate Jake Paul, he has stepped up in a massive way this week. When his former opponent Ben Askren needed a double lung transplant, and his health insurance company bailed out on it, he stepped up without a media beat-up and covered a large portion of the bill with $500,000 donation without a fuss. Massive respect for someone who is very widely disliked everywhere,” The Rugby League Report
“I’m telling you He’s Different! “Not once did he go public with this. @jakepaul isn’t what most think. To know him is to love him,” Amanda Serrano
