Jake Paul has his eye on another legend to add to his growing MMA lineup.
The YouTuber-turned-boxer is set to go head-to-head with the UFC as he prepares to host his first MMA event.
Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions already boasts some big names, with Ronda Rousey, Gina Carano and Francis Ngannou all set to compete on May 16.
Jake Paul was asked about the possibility of signing Jon Jones during a press event on Tuesday. The 29-year-old has made it clear he’s open to the idea and says he’ll make sure ‘Bones’ is paid well if he makes the move from UFC to MVP.
“Yeah, 100 percent,” Paul said when asked if he’s interested in working with the former two-weight UFC champion.
“Jon, you are always welcome to come over to MVP. We’ll get it popping, and we’ll get you paid what you deserve.”
Jon Jones recently asked to be let out of his UFC contract following a disagreement with Dana White over the weekend.
The 38-year-old was left off the June 14th card at the White House, which surprised many fans.
Dana White said that Jones was never in consideration for the event, citing past issues with reliability and noting that Jones is dealing with arthritis in his hip.
Jones fired back, accusing White of being untruthful and saying he had turned down what he called a ‘lowball’ offer to face Alex Pereira on the same card.
A pay dispute, Dana’s comments, and a snub all appear to be what led us here. It’s still unclear if Jones is truly looking for a release from his contract or if this is just another round of negotiations behind closed doors.
