Former University of Iowa women’s basketball player and radio color analyst, Jamie Cavey-Lang passed away on Saturday after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
Cavey-Lang, 41, stepped away from assisting Rob Brooks with the radio call after the 2022-23 season. She had been a part of the radio team since the beginning of 2016-17.
Cavey-Lang lettered at Iowa from 2001-05 and was a part of four postseason squads.
She finished her Hawkeye career with 1,265 points which is good for 27th in program history and 506 rebounds. Cavey-Lang was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and two-time All-Big Ten selection.
She also earned her master’s degree in higher education from Iowa, was a career advisor at the university and served on the Presidential Committee on Athletes for several years.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. (CT) on Dec. 26 at The Celebration Farm, located 4696 Robin Woods Lane NE, Iowa City. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Solon.
