Jelly Fam 81, Cold Hearts 76 (Series tied 1-1)
Against all odds Jelly Fam survived on Friday night, taking down the Cold Hearts in a thriller 81-76 to force a game three in the series. After Jelly Fam trailed by as much as 16 in the third quarter, they put together an incredible defensive performance to rally and stay alive. Yandel German showed why he was named DPOY this year, logging a game-high four steals, while also scoring 18 points and dishing out eight assists
After a slow game one, Torrey Brooks got back into his scoring groove, leading Jelly Fam with 24 points while also pulling down five boards. OTE’s leading rebounder Josue Manya did it again on Friday night, ripping down a game-high 12 boards while also logging a double-double with 13 points
The Cold Hearts gave it their all and MVP runner-up Adam Oumiddoch did everything in his power to close out the series, registering a game-high 33 points while also posting five assists, five boards and four steals. Owen Laver was the only other Cold Heart to get into double-digits, scoring 11 points including some critical threes down the stretch
The YNG Dreamerz took care of business on Friday night, sweeping the Blue Checks out of the playoffs thanks to star performances from their iconic duo. With the win the YNG Dreamerz advance to the semi-finals where they will take on the winner of game three between the Cold Hearts and Jelly Fam. Isaac Ellis and Caleb Jones combined to score 66 of the Dreamerz 98 points, making a clear statement to the league that this YNG duo was snubbed for the inaugural Best Duo award
The reigning MVP did more than just score in this game, as Ellis also posted six assists and six boards to fuel the Dreamerz win. Dereon Truesdale continues to make an impact in an elevated role, logging a nice line of 11 points and eight boards
Although the Blue Checks season came to an end tonight, Santonio Waide left it all on the floor, finishing his Blue Checks career with a team-high 17 points and four assists. Defensive Player of the Year nominee Kaylen Chilton played this game with grit and determination, as he logged 16 points, five assists and a team best two steals ✅
