The Ohio State Buckeyes thoroughly dominated the SEC's second College Football Playoff representative, the Tennessee Volunteers, on Saturday as rookie sensation Jeremiah Smith put up a performance for the ages.

Smith tallied six catches for 103 yards and two touchdowns at the Horsehoe as he torched the Volunteers' secondary the way he has many of his 2024-2025 college opponents.

Smith could not contain his laughter on social media as he reacted to a pregame comparison poll that he answered in emphatic fashion during Saturday night's game.

Many SEC, Volunteers and football fans had commented on a post asking who is better between Smith and Tennessee defender Jermod McCoy prior to the game.

The fans appeared to pick McCoy in spades.

"Jermod all day. Yep, heard it here first. One catch, six yards," one fan said prior to the game.

"Both will make plays but McCoy makes more," another fan added.

"Shutdown corner. Little (expletive) boy isn't ready for some real competition. This isn't Big 10 ball (expletive)," another fan added as part of a long line of readers and fans who decided to choose McCoy over Smith.

Smith's two-touchdown performance proved social media commentors wrong. He showed off his vast talents as he led coach Ryan Day's team to the first round win.

Smith had a message for those who doubted him after he lit up the scoreboard vs. coach Josh Heupel's team.

Fans reacted to Smith's laughter with celebratory posts of their own.

A fan called Smith's post "disrespectful" in a positive way.

"Disrespect in sports is BACK. Love this," another fan added.

"Haha. You toasted him all game!!!" another fan added on X.

Ohio State will now head to Pasadena, California to take on coach Dan Lanning's Oregon Ducks in hopes of avenging an early season loss.

Ohio State quarterback Will Howard's last second slide after running for extra yardage was the final play of the game in Oregon's 32-31 win at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Oregon on October 12.

The Ducks won the Big Ten title over Penn State in Indianapolis, Indiana on Saturday, December 7.
