Jermall Charlo: ‘I’m Ready To Fight Again’

Former WBC middleweight champion Jermall Charlo is ready to get back in the ring, according to a recent post on social media.

The 35-year-old Charlo (34-0, 23 KOs), through his verified Instagram account, posted on his stories “I’m ready to fight again” followed by “I don’t need money or nothin. I just want to clear 168 out” then ended it with “Miss my kids, the BM won’t let me see them, I got 5 kids missing me!

Charlo’s legal issues and the problems with the mother of his children are documented and lengthy. Charlo has admitted to getting help with his personal issues while being away from the sport. He has been wildly inactive in the ring because of all the issues outside of it, as he has only had three fights since 2020. He was in the ring in May, where he scored a sixth-round TKO over Thomas LaManna, awarding Charlo his first victory at super middleweight.

That night, during the in-ring post-fight interview, Charlo said, “It feels good to be back. “I’m thankful to everyone who stood by me, I love y’all. It goes on man. I’m back. You know you gotta go through things to get better…I felt good. I got to work and I knew my timing was there. Shout out to my trainer Hylon Williams Sr.

This sounded like a fighter that was back on track and ready to get to work; however, since May, no one has heard of any fight being discussed for Charlo. Today’s post suggests that he either has a fight lined up and will soon announce it, or he’s trying to draw the attention of the powers that be to his availability for a fight. Either way, all fans want to see is the return of him and his brother Jermell in the ring, as inactivity has plagued both of their careers.
