Joey Logano dishes on beef with Chipper Jones, dirt on Braves hat in Victory Lane

Joey Logano opened up about wearing an Atlanta Braves hat in Victory Lane and his beef with Chipper Jones. While appearing on Dale Jr. Download, Joey Logano explained why he wore the Braves hat after winning the NASCAR Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway.

“It was an idea in Victory Lane,” Logano said. “I was there, I was like ‘Oh man, we should get a picture with a Braves hat on and just send it to Chipper as an ehh.'”

Joey Logano also revealed where he got the hat. “There was somebody who works for NASCAR had it on that day and I said, ‘Let me borrow that thing real quick,'” Logano said. And then I was kind of like ‘How do I do this?’ I was really busy yesterday. I didn’t have the opportunity to do anything.

“I wake up early in the morning, and I was scrolling through social, which I should not do, but I was. And I was like, ‘You know what? I should figure out how to handle this.’ And then I saw he tweeted something nice to me. I’m like, oh geez. Of course, he said something nice.”

How did the feud between Joey Logano and Chipper Jones start?

The beef with Logano and Chipper Jones began when Logano blasted Penske teammate Austin Cindric for letting Bubba Wallace win a stage at the Talladega race last weekend. Cindric won the race, which led to Jones calling out Logano for attacking his teammate.

“Congrats to [Austin Cindric] on his [Talladega] win,” Jones wrote on X/Twitter. “Good teammates are hard to come by, Boss! Remember that one of urs MFed u on national tv, when in all actuality, u did everything possible to keep from wrecking him. Hate to be [duces] in the ‘team’ meeting on Monday. Some people are ‘hooray for our team as long as I’m the star’ as every team has them. Hendrick, RCR, JGR, Penske, etc. Sometimes karma is glorious. Enjoy this one! Logano and Jones went back and forth throughout the week, but when Logano won Sunday’s race at Texas Motor Speedway, the Braves legend and Baseball Hall of Famer congratulated him.
