The Minnesota Timberwolves have had an eventful week thus far as a franchise. They fired president Gersson Rosas just a few weeks ahead of the season, and many loyal Minnesota Timberwolves fans were shocked by the decision. After all, Rosas got former All-Star D'Angelo Russell on the squad and drafted a great prospect in Anthony Edwards.

The decision to fire Rosas reportedly came because the former president had an "inappropriate relationship" inside the Timberwolves organization. While that seems to be somewhat justified, it was still a surprise to franchise center Karl-Anthony Towns, who reacted to the Timberwolves firing their president the week before training camp with confusion.

As a result of the Timberwolves' move, many fans speculated about Karl-Anthony Towns potentially requesting a trade from the team. However, Timberwolves reporter Jon Krawczynski stated that there are "no indications" that Towns is ready to ask for a trade.

Karl-Anthony Towns has weathered a lot of drama in his six years here... There's just been so much turmoil and tumult around him... You look at it, and you've seen stars ask out in other places and you say "Do you really need to go that far? Is that really necessary?"

Well in this case, I think if he fires that bullet, I don't know that many people would disagree... It's been a mess here. Now, so far, there are no indications that he is ready to go that route.

There is no doubt that losing Karl-Anthony Towns would hurt the Minnesota Timberwolves, even if they'd likely get a huge haul for the talented center. Towns is the best shooting center in the league, and he is an All-NBA caliber player in many people's eyes.

It remains to be seen if Karl-Anthony Towns asks for a trade in the future, but as of now, it seems as though there has been no request put in. Hopefully, the Minnesota Timberwolves can build a competitive squad around him, and potentially get back into the playoffs.
