The Chicago Bears surprised NFL fans around the world when they selected Colston Loveland with the No. 10 pick.
The Michigan tight end is an excellent player, but nearly everyone considered him to be the second-best player at his position behind Tyler Warren.
This stunning development allowed the Indianapolis Colts to swoop in and take Warren.
The Penn State product is coming off one of the most dominant tight end seasons in college history and he’s looking to bring that same fire to the Colts.
They don’t have many playmakers on offense, but they are hoping Warren can be the one to build a strong connection with quarterback Anthony Richardson.
The John Mackey Award winner had over 1,300 yards for the Nittany Lions last season and is extremely versatile despite his massive size.
Warren took a plethora of snaps at a bunch of positions in college and Indianapolis is hoping he can diversify their offense.
The college star has only been in the building for a couple weeks and is already earning the love and respect from his teammates.
Star running back Jonathan Taylor was speaking about Warren’s work ethic and had this to say, “He has very good attention to detail. I’m sure you guys probably heard, but like Jack Doyle-esque type.”
The Colts haven’t had a ton of success at the tight end position in their history but Doyle is one of the better ones they’ve seen.
He wasn’t the most talented player, but he flashed solid pass catching ability when he was healthy and was always an excellent blocker.
Warren has unfathomable superstar potential, so Indianapolis is probably hoping for much more production than Doyle was able to provide.
However, he was a leader in the locker room and staple in the community, so the fact that Warren is drawing comparisons to him already is promising.
He has unbelievable natural talent, so if he puts in the hard work to match then he has a bright future.
