Juventus have officially confirmed that unwanted midfielder Arthur Melo has returned to his native Brazil to sign for his boyhood club Gremio on loan until the end of the 2025-26 campaign.
This will be the fourth season in succession that Arthur has been sent out on a loan move away from Turin, following his infamous spell with Liverpool in 2022-23, his slightly more encouraging period with Fiorentina in 2023-24 and his short-term deal with Girona in 2025.
The 29-year-old midfielder has not appeared in Serie A for Juventus since the 2021-22 campaign, when current Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri was still in charge of the Bianconeri.
“The midfielder is setting off for a new experience in his native Brazil, having spent the second part of last season on loan with Spanish club Girona. There, he played 15 times, of which 10 were as a starter,” Juventus wrote in a statement on the club website.
“Arthur has been a Juventus player since 2020, wearing our shirt on 63 occasions. Good luck, Arthur!”
Most recently, Arthur played with Girona in LaLiga after joining on loan for the second half of the 2024-25 campaign. He made 15 appearances in the Spanish top flight during that spell.
Arthur remains under contract with Juventus until the end of the 2026-27 campaign.
