Serbia’s U19 squad mounted a stunning 22‑point comeback to defeat Argentina and earn second place, largely thanks to Kansas State commit Andrej Kostic.

Trailing 52‑31 in the third quarter, Kostic ignited the turnaround, pouring in 25 points on 50 percent from three (6‑12), adding five rebounds and delivering clutch free throws in the final seconds, securing Serbia’s and his own statement moment.

Through six games at the FIBA U19 World Cup, Kostic is averaging 15.0 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per contest. His offensive versatility and confident shooting, especially from beyond the arc, highlight the scoring dimension Kansas State is banking on as he joins the program under coach Jerome Tang.

K-State fans are already buzzing. The performance aligns with the hype generated by his significant NIL deal, reportedly worth $2.5 million, and early mock draft positioning. At six‑foot‑six, Kostic offers length, shooting range, and the poise to lead a European squad in a major international tournament.

His arrival in Manhattan hinges on finalized visa clearance, which shouldn’t be a significant concern as other international prospects have had to jump through similar hoops, but the on-court results are already making waves.

Kotic’s ability to carry Serbia on a comeback stage signals his NBA ceiling and offers Jerome Tang an immediate perimeter weapon to complement the Wildcats’ evolving roster as they aim to improve from last season.

If Kostic can translate his international scoring and composure to the Bramlage Coliseum floor, Kansas State may have landed a future first‑round talent who can impact winning now.
