The Kansas City Chiefs are heading into a new season, looking to make their fourth straight Super Bowl appearance under head coach Andy Reid.
Kansas City made its way to the Super Bowl last season after defeating the Houston Texans and the Buffalo Bills in the postseason.
They're looking for their sixth AFC title with Patrick Mahomes at quarterback, widely regarded as one of the best teams in the NFL over the past several seasons.
As Andy Reid looks to keep his team in contention for the Super Bowl, the Chiefs have made several changes to their roster, even in the quarterback room.
On Monday, one quarterback was dealt unfortunate news.
According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Bailey Zappe has reportedly been waived by the Kansas City Chiefs ahead of the NFL's roster deadline.

Zappe was a part of the Kansas City Chiefs' practice squad in 2024 but was later signed by the Cleveland Browns ahead of their Week 18 season finale. He, however, returned to the Chiefs squad in the offseason and ended up competing during training camp ahead of the 2025 season.
During his NFL career, spanning over the past three seasons, Zappe has spent time with the New England Patriots, Cleveland Browns and Kansas City Chiefs.
The Kansas City Chiefs have been led by Patrick Mahomes over the past seven seasons. Mahomes—who is entering his ninth NFL season and eighth as a starter—has already had an incredible career with the Chiefs, leading the team to three Super Bowl titles and five AFC titles.
Last season with the Chiefs, Mahomes posted 26 touchdowns and 3,928 yards with a 67.5 completion percentage.
Mahomes and the Chiefs will be opening their 2025 NFL regular season campaign against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sept. 5 in Sao Paulo at Arena Corinthians at 8 p.m. ET.
