Kansas City Chiefs HC Andy Reid is celebrating his 66th birthday on Tuesday, March 19, and his next-door neighbors at Kauffman Stadium are delivering the perfect present to celebrate it.
No, they're not getting him a cheeseburger, though I'm sure he'll grab some peanuts and cracker jacks. The Kansas City Royals announced that Reid will throw out the first pitch on MLB Opening Day at The K on Thursday, March 28. He'll be handing off the baseball to Royals lefty Cole Ragans, who is the starter against the Minnesota Twins.
Hopefully, he'll deliver a strike, right down the middle of the plate. Otherwise, he won't hear the end of it from the Chiefs' locker room.

It has become an annual tradition for the Chiefs to send over a contingent of coaches and staff members for opening day. Reid is typically among them, but this time around he's got a special role.
Eyes will also be on Patrick Mahomes, who is a part owner of the Royals. He's currently down in Texas training at APEC with Hollywood Brown and his trainer Bobby Stroupe. Last year, Mahomes missed the Royals opening day.
