New Orleans Saints fan favorite Taysom Hill will have to miss regular season time due to a reason he simply cannot control. He is working his way back from injury, but he won't be able to suit up for New Orleans' season opener against the Arizona Cardinals.
According to Kellen Moore, Taysom Hill is headed for the Physically Unable to Perform list to begin the season. Hill is recovering from a torn ACL that he suffered late last season for New Orleans.
This chunk of missed time has been the expectation all offseason. The hope is that he can return in the middle of the year for the Saints.
Taysom Hill will start on PUP

Hill will have to miss at least the first four games of the season. For New Orleans, that is unfortunate. Plenty of folks are excited about the concept of Hill in Kellen Moore's offensive scheme. Moore has been deploying running backs in a wildcat formation at times in practice recently, so we could see those sort of plays with Hill included if he can make a healthy return later in the regular season.
Our favorite Taysom Hill position is RB, QB, WR, TE, FB, kick returner, punt returner, punt block, and gunner

Foster Moreau was also placed on PUP. He will also miss at least the first four games of the season.
As for injured reserve, defensive lineman John Ridgeway and offensive lineman Barry Wesley were placed on IR (expected to return). A handful of other players were placed on season-long injured reserve. Check out that list below.
New Orleans will have plenty of injuries, particularly to their depth, to navigate through to start the season. That being said, the overall roster is healthier than recent seasons as the Saints prepare for Week 1. Let's see how Kellen Moore's first season unfolds for the black and gold.
