On Tuesday night at Freedom Hall, University of Kentucky Wildcats alum Randall Cobb joined the Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025.
Cobb was honored alongside other Kentucky icons, including former NBA and UK forward Tayshaun Prince, Louisville Cardinals gymnast and longtime judge Carole Liedtke and legendary trap shooter Nora Martin Ross, all celebrated in a ceremony organized by the Louisville Sports Commission.
The University of Kentucky's social media team took to Instagram on Wednesday to celebrate Cobb's latest achievement, posting the caption, "Congratulations, Randall Cobb on being in the Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame 2025 Class."
Cobb was with the Wildcats from 2008 to 2010 before enjoying a successful 13-year career in the NFL.
As a junior in 2010, Cobb set the SEC single-season record for all-purpose yards (2,396) and left Lexington second all-time in career touchdowns at Kentucky (37).
He earned first-team All-America and first-team All-SEC honors as a junior and doubled as a passer, rusher, receiver and returner across his three seasons on campus.
Across three seasons with Kentucky, Cobb finished with 4,674 all-purpose yards. Those numbers made him one of the nation’s most versatile players before declaring for the 2011 NFL Draft.
The Green Bay Packers selected Cobb in the second round of the 2011 draft (No. 64 overall), and he went on to play for four franchises: Packers, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans and New York Jets.
Cobb finished his NFL career with 630 receptions for 7,624 receiving yards and 54 receiving touchdowns across 166 games, adding value as a slot target and return specialist and earning a Pro Bowl selection in 2014.
The Freedom Hall enshrinement is the latest stop on a recognition track that includes the UK Athletics Hall of Fame (2017) and the Kentucky Pro Sports Hall of Fame (2022); Cobb also was named to the 2026 College Football Hall of Fame ballot earlier this year.
