In a week of intense competition, the Kentucky swimmers and divers showcased their skills at the national stage, participating in both the Toyota U.S. Open and USA Diving Winter Nationals. A total of four Wildcat swimmers and five divers represented the University of Kentucky in the National Championship meets held at the Greensboro Aquatic Center and Allan Jones Aquatic Center, respectively.

Making their debuts at the Toyota U.S. Open, Max Berg, Carson Hick, Libby Grether, and Olivia Mendenhall competed in a challenging field that included 68 current U.S. National Team members, 34 U.S. Olympians, and 29 American record holders. The Wildcats were up against some of the best swimmers in the country, demonstrating their talent and determination.

In the diving events, Jodi Cobb, Abby Devereaux, Gavin Hang, Kristy Pfaff, and Claire McDaniels represented Kentucky. These divers showcased their skill and precision, diving against top-level competition.

At the 2023 Toyota U.S. Open:
– Carson Hick: Men’s 400m Freestyle (48th, 4:01.14), Men’s 1500m Freestyle (21st, 15:50.24)
– Libby Grether: Women’s 400m Freestyle (42nd, 4:25.52), Women’s 200m Freestyle (57th, 2:07.69), Women’s 200m Backstroke (28th, 2:16.33)

– Kristy Pfaff: Women’s 3-meter Springboard Qualifier (12th, 218.35), Women’s 1-meter Springboard Qualifier (14th, 208.05)
– Abby Devereaux: Women’s 3-meter Springboard Qualifier (19th, 203.65), Women’s 1-meter Springboard Qualifier (8th, 214.10)
