Kentucky Women’s Golf Team Secures Karlie Campbell in Exciting Signing

In an exciting announcement, head coach Golda Borst revealed that the University of Kentucky women’s golf program has added Karlie Campbell to their class of 2024. Campbell joins four other signees from the early signing period, including A. Carter, Anastasia Hekkonen, Elin Pudas Remler, and Raleygh Simpson.

Coach Borst expressed her satisfaction with the incoming class, stating, “We have a really strong class coming in next fall, and it’s a group that we are very proud of. It’s a diverse group of players from near and far, who all bring something different to our team. I think Big Blue Nation will love what they all bring to the table. We have big shoes to fill within the Kentucky women’s golf program in the years to come, and I know that these players, along with our returners next season, are ready for that task and more!”

Karlie Campbell, hailing from Ethridge, Tennessee, brings an impressive record to the Wildcats. As a five-year letterwinner on the Ethridge golf team, she has been a key contributor to her high school’s success, helping them secure five consecutive Tennessee State Championships. Campbell also earned runner-up at the state championship from 2019 to 2022 and was crowned the individual champion in her senior year in 2023.

In addition to her achievements at the high school level, Campbell has also excelled on various tours, including the Sneds Tour, American Junior Golf Association, MidSouth Golf Series, and Hurricane Junior Tour. In 2023, she emerged as the winner at the Sneds Tour Elite at Mossy Oak, Tennessee PGA Section Junior Championship, and the Tennessee Girls Junior Amateur Championship. Campbell also secured second place at the HIGT Spring College Prep Series at the UK Club, tied for third at the Golf Capital of Tennessee Women’s Open, and finished fifth at the AJGA-Huntsville.org Junior Championship.

Moreover, Campbell boasts an impressive list of other tournament victories, including the MidSouth Tournament at Saddle Creek and Tim’s Ford, the Sneds Tour Masters Tournament at Grasslands and Old Natchez, the MidSouth Tour Championship at Towhee, the Sneds Tour Tournament of Champions, and the Sneds Tour Masters Tournaments at Harrison Bay and Willow Creek.

Coach Borst is excited about Campbell’s addition to the team, stating, “Karlie is another strong addition to our freshman class and our program. I am confident that she will come in and have an immediate impact in our program, both on and off the course. She is a natural leader, and we are thrilled she chose to become a Wildcat!”
