Kirk Herbstreit and the ESPN "College GameDay" crew traveled across the country throughout the 2024 college football season, covering some of the biggest games of the year.

While the crew made a few stops in some of their usual locations, like Columbus, Ohio; College Station, Texas; and Austin, Texas, they made a trip out west that seemed to have raised some eyebrows.

Following the regular season, Herbstreit revealed his pick for the best "College GameDay" location.

The longtime ESPN analyst chose Berkeley, California, for a matchup between the California Golden Bears and Miami Hurricanes in Week 6.

That Week 6 ACC matchup ended in a 39-38 victory for the Hurricanes.

According to ESPN PR, the "College GameDay" crew averaged two million viewers and had 2.5 million final-hour viewers for their first-ever trip to Berkeley, California.

Following the crew's trip to Berkeley, Herbstreit took to social media to share his gratitude to the Golden Bears fan base.

"THANK YOU CAL!!!" Herbstreit said. "UNBELIEVABLE showing by the students and the Cal fans at College GameDay today. We will forever remember this stop! Appreciate you very much!"

Herbstreit and the ESPN crew will now prepare for a doubleheader for the first round of the College Football Playoff.

The "College GameDay" panel will be in South Bend, Indiana, on Dec. 20 for a matchup between No. 10 Indiana versus No. 7 Notre Dame and in Columbus, Ohio, on Dec. 21 for a matchup between No. 8 Ohio State versus No. 9 Tennessee.
