Lady Rebels ready for Hawai’i in opening round of WBIT

The UNLV Lady Rebels have claimed the No. 2 seed in the 2025 Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament.

They will host Hawai’i on Thursday, March 20 at 6:30pm PT at the Cox Pavillion.

This marks the fourth consecutive season that the Lady Rebels have participated in the postseason and their first time in the WBIT, which is only in its second year.

The Lady Rebels are 34-16 all time against Hawai’i. The Lady rebels were victorious in their last meeting 76-66 in Hawai’i.

UNLV have won the last three of five games.

Hawai’i is unseeded in the 32-team field and have an 22-9 overall record. The Rainbow Wahine just suffered a loss to UC San Diego on Friday, 51-49 in the Big West Championship Semifinals.

The Rainbow Wahine are led by Lily Wahinekapu, averaging 11.2 points per game. Ritorya Tamilo leads the Rainbow Wahine in rebounding, grabbing down 5.1 rebounds per game.

Amarachi Kimpson continues to lead the Lady Rebels in scoring and field goals per game. Kimpson averages 14.2 points per game and makes 5.2 field goals per game.

Kiara Jackson is the second leading Lady Rebel averaging 12.6 points per game and 4.9 assists per game.

The game will be televised on ESPN+ at 6:30pm PT.
