The Tennessee Lady Volunteers had a particularly difficult 2025-26 season. They finished on an eight-game losing streak and posted a 16-14 record. They’re now in uncharted territory as practically the entire team has hit the transfer portal leaving just one player currently on the roster.
As of Monday, all eight players that were eligible to return next season opted to enter the transfer portal. Freshman twins Mya Pauldo and Mia Pauldo were the first players to announce their intentions to enter the portal.
Since the portal opened on Monday, the dominos have continued to fall in Tennessee. Junior forward Alyssa Latham hit the transfer portal immediately and already committed to Virginia Tech. Jaida Civil was the latest player with eligibility to opt for the portal.
The Lady Vols also lost a top recruit before she even arrived on campus. Oliviyah Edwards is a top-three incoming freshman, and she has officially decommitted from Tennessee and requested a release from her letter of intent.
With four players graduating, the only player currently left on the roster is incoming four-star recruit Gabby Minus. Given all the roster movement, it’s unclear if she’ll remain with the team.
Historically, the Lady Vols are a powerhouse of success. But their eight-game losing streak this season was their longest of the modern era and underscores a 14-loss season that is tied for their worst on record.
Lady Vols head coach Kim Caldwell called the 2025-26 campaign “the worst year of my professional career.”
Now, she’ll face a different type of obstacle as Tennessee will practically have to rebuild the roster from scratch.
