Tennessee Vols infielder Laura Mealer has a tendency to hit home runs against the Alabama Crimson Tide.

A year ago, while playing for Middle Tennessee State, Mealer hit two home runs (on back-to-back days) against Alabama in the NCAA Tournament.

This past offseason, Mealer, a Tennessee native, transferred from Middle Tennessee State to UT.

And once again, Mealer ran into Alabama in the NCAA Tournament.

And once again, Mealer delivered a home run against the Tide.

On Friday, Mealer hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth to give the Lady Vols a 3-2 lead. Tennessee would go on to win the game 3-2.

After the game, Mealer was asked about playing against Alabama.

"I have something against them? Honestly, yes," said Mealer. "I've been a Tennessee fan my whole life. Alabama's not my favorite team."

Hitting three home runs in two years against Alabama is probably the best way that a lifelong Tennessee fan can express her love for the Vols and her disdain for the Crimson Tide.

Tennessee will play Alabama again on Saturday afternoon in the Knoxville Super Regional. If the Lady Vols win on Saturday, Alabama will be eliminated and UT will head to its second straight Women's College World Series. If Alabama wins, the two teams will meet again in an elimination game on Sunday.
