Latest chaotic Micah Parsons-Cowboys update is just as comical for Eagles fans

Nobody really knows what's going to happen at this point with the Dallas Cowboys and Micah Parsons, but the Philadelphia Eagles are just fine sitting on the couch with a big bowl of popcorn to watch the drama unfold.

On Tuesday, DLLS Cowboys reporter Clarence Hill Jr. shared an update from Dallas' head coach Brian Schottenheimer as he discussed Parsons. Schottenheimer stated that he had a long discussion about Parsons' lying on the trainer's table in last week's Atlanta Falcons preseason game. He also said that he still believes Parsons will play against the Eagles in Week 1, but will be on a pitch count as he deals with tightness in his back.

This, of course, all stems from Parsons' trade request at the beginning of training camp and has been at odds with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones during negotiations. Jones has not been as optimistic as Schottenheimer has been about the four-time Pro Bowler playing against the Eagles.

Eagles fans can only shrug their shoulders and control their laughter at this point

In the past few days, Eagles fans have seen their other rivals, the Washington Commanders, strike a deal with their star wide receiver, Terry McLaurin, to resolve his contract dispute. Eagles fans were even crushed to see the Cincinnati Bengals get a deal done with their holdout defensive end, Trey Hendrickson.

It's interesting to see Jones hold his ground and not come to an agreement with Parsons. The longer it takes, the worse it will get for Cowboys fans. Not Eagles fans. They are enjoying the ride.

There is speculation that the Green Bay Packers may be interested in acquiring Parsons. As everyone knows, it's just a rumor, and it might not be anything. Or it could be something.

How does this all affect the Eagles in 2025? It really shouldn't change anything. Dallas won't be in contention in the NFC East with the Commanders being the biggest threat to the Eagles repeating as NFC East and Super Bowl champions.

This Cowboys team appears to have gotten worse on paper, which seems an unlikely feat. The Eagles made easy work of Dallas last year by beating them twice with a combined final score of 75-13.

At this point, Philly fans can only encourage Jones to continue the madness, while the Eagles focus on pursuing another Super Bowl title with no drama at all.
