LeBron James has responded to Bryson DeChambeau’s Instagram post and congratulated him on his remarkable win at LIV Golf Singapore on Sunday.
DeChambeau has secured his first victory of the season after winning a playoff with Richard T. Lee this weekend.
The Crushers captain began the day one shot behind Joaquin Niemann and Lee Westwood. However, a birdie on the final hole ensured that DeChambeau would be joining the Canadian wildcard in a playoff.
It appeared that the two-time US Open champion had handed the title to Lee with his tee shot. DeChambeau found the water with his drive on the par five 18th.
However, it almost proved to be the worst thing that could have happened from Lee’s perspective. He seemed to go on the defensive, simply trying to make sure that he left himself with an outside birdie chance.
DeChambeau did brilliantly to still make a five. And when Lee missed a short putt for his par, it was confirmed that the American had won.
Unsurprisingly, DeChambeau was left in sheer disbelief after Lee’s error.
It felt like a particularly important moment for the 32-year-old, especially after his hugely disappointing finish in Adelaide last month.
He has now taken to social media, posting: ‘This one feels extra good!
‘It was a grind of a week, but the game’s moving in the right direction. Excited for the big events coming up. Let’s keep it rolling!
‘Much love‘.
In response, LeBron James simply said: ‘Congrats CHAMP!!‘
Several of the world’s best players have made their statements ahead of The Masters. Scottie Scheffler and Jon Rahm have won, while Rory McIlroy was not far away at the Genesis Invitational.
Meanwhile, Collin Morikawa looks to be back towards his best. And the likes of Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth have shown flashes of their brilliance. It is setting up to be an amazing first major of the year.
DeChambeau has now made his move with his win. And of course, he has a record at Augusta National that has improved significantly in the last two years.
He finished inside the top six in both 2024 and 2025. He joined McIlroy in the last group on Sunday last year.
So his victory in Singapore has come at an ideal time, just to give him that belief that he will be ready to contend at The Masters.
