NBA superstar and Ohio native LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers reacted to Shedeur Sanders’ NFL debut with the Cleveland Browns.

James praised Sanders on X.

Shedeur Sanders went 14-of-23 against the Carolina Panthers. He threw two touchdowns and didn’t turn the ball over.

“I’ma be honest, I wasn’t nervous or have too much adrenaline, it was just getting comfortable,” Sanders said after his first NFL game. “That’s all it is. There’s plenty games before where I was nervous, but I felt like I knew the answers to the test. So, when you feel unprepared, then you don’t feel ready for the moment. I know I’m ready for the moment. Did I play up to par? No, I don’t feel like I did. But overall, the main goal was to win and that’s honestly what we did.”

LeBron James has played for his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers twice. He guided the Cavaliers to their lone championship in 2016 against the Golden State Warriors.

The 2016 Cavaliers are the only team in NBA history to erase a 3-1 series deficit in the NBA Finals.

James enters next season with career averages of 27.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 7.4 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.7 blocks with the Cavaliers, Miami Heat and Lakers. He’s the only player in NBA history to rank top five all-time in points and assists.

A future Hall of Famer, James is the leading scorer in NBA history. He’s also a four-time MVP, a four-time champion and a four-time Finals MVP.

James will make $52.6 million next season in the final year of his contract with the Lakers. He will become an unrestricted free agent next offseason for the first time since 2016.

If James doesn’t retire after next season, an NBA executive expects the Cavaliers, Dallas Mavericks and Golden State Warriors to pursue him in free agency, according to DallasHoopsJournal.com.
