Legendary Eating Champion Joey Chestnut Attends Toronto Blue Jays Game

You never know who is going to show up at the ballpark, do you?

That was the case on Tuesday night in Toronto as legendary competitive eater Joey Chestnut showed up before Game 2 of the series between the Blue Jays and White Sox.

The Blue Jays Twitter account posted the photo of Chestnut with the Blue Jays mascot before the game.

The 39-year-old Chestnut is arguably the most famous competitive eater of all-time. He's won 15 Nathan's Hot Eating Contest championships (2007-2014, 2016-2022) while also setting records in several other food categories.

Back in 2007, he hit 103 Krystal Burgers in eight minutes and 45 pulled pork sandwiches in 10 minutes. In 2008, he hit a 72 ounce steak in under nine minutes in Texas.

In 2011, he ate 23 Philly cheesesteak sandwiches and also 13 salt potatoes. He ate 53 Taco Bell tacos in 10 minutes that year as well.

In 2013, he ate 4,375 apple pies in eight minutes while also taking down 141 hard-boiled eggs at a seperate event.

More recently, he hit 55 glazed donuts in 2017, 81 mutton sandwiches in 2018, 185 croquettes in ten minutes in 2019, 32 big macs in 38:15 in 2020 and 44 chicken fingers in five minutes in 2022.

As for the Blue Jays, they are one of the best teams in baseball. They are 14-9 on the season entering play on Tuesday, just behind the Orioles (15-7) and Rays (20-3) in the highly-competitive American League East division.
