Neil Young has canceled his 2026 tour dates. He made an announcement on his website, Neil Young Archives.

"I have decided to take a break and will not be touring Europe this time,” he wrote. “Thanks to everyone who bought tickets. I’m sorry to let you down, but this is not the time. I do love playing LIVE and being with you and the Chrome Hearts. LOVE Neil be well.”

Fans who bought tickets for upcoming shows will be reimbursed

Why Did He Cancel?.

Young didn't say, but he's had health issues since childhood, including polio and epilepsy. At 79, he has arthritis, which can be very painful. He survived a brain aneurysm in 2005. He's got diabetes and was seen using a walker leaving a medical facility a few months ago. Touring is brutal on the body and mind, and perhaps he just needs a rest. He surprised fans by playing a live gig last year. He reportedly told people he's played with in recent years that he's burned out and tired.

His Best Songs

Young has played a range of folk, country, blues, and rock over the years. He even dabbled in synth rock. Some of his more memorable tunes include "Harvest Moon," "Walk Like A Giant," "Heart of Gold," and "Old Man."
