Live 2026 Minnesota boy's hockey tournament results

The 2026 Minnesota Boys' Hockey State Tournament gets underway on Wednesday. A new Class A champion will be crowned after East Grand Forks missed out on this year's tournament. Meanwhile, Moorhead are looking to repeat as Class AA champions.

Class A schedule

All Class A first-round games take place on Wednesday, March 5. The semifinals will be played Friday, with the title game on Saturday. All games will be played at Grand Casino Arena.

#8 Dodge County vs. #1 Hibbing/Chisolm — 11 a.m.

The Wildcats enter as the eight seed after upsetting Northfield in the Class A, Section 1 finals. Hibbing enter the tournament as one of the favorites after suffering just two losses all season.

#5 St. Cloud Cathedral vs. #4 Mahtomedi — 1 p.m.

In a rematch of last year's 2/7 first-round game, Mahtomedi look to exact revenge after being bounced 3-0 by the Crusaders. St. Cloud Cathedral are looking to get back to the final for a third-straight season, this time hoping to claim the title.

#7 Mankato West vs. #2 Delano — 6 p.m.

Mankato West are back in the tournament after a 19-7-2 season and looking to upset one of the favorites in Delano, who went 22-4-2 this season.

#6 Northern Lakes vs. #3 Warroad — 8 p.m.

Perennial powerhouse Warroad open their annual quest for a tournament title against Northern Lakes, who sport a 17-10-1 record on the season.

Class AA schedule

All first-round Class AA games will be played on Thursday, with the semifinals on Friday and the championship on Saturday. All games will be played at Grand Casino Arena.

#8 Gentry Academy vs. #1 Minnetonka — 11 a.m.

Minnetonka are back in the tournament for the first-time since winning it in 2023. They'll start their run against Gentry Academy, who went 17-9-2 this season.

#5 Grand Rapids vs. #4 Rosemount — 1 p.m.

Grand Rapids were knocked out in the semifinals in 2024 and missed last year's tournament. They'll take a Rosemount squad that went 23-4-1 this year.

#7 Lakeville South vs. #2 Moorhead — 6 p.m.

Moorhead claimed the title in a thrilling 7-6 win over Stillwater last year. They're looking to repeat but will have to go through a Lakeville South that is looking for revenge after being knocked out in the first-round last year by Moorhead.

#6 Andover vs. #3 Edina — 8 p.m.

Andover pulled off a shock run in the Section 5AA tournament, winning it as the five-seed. In the first-round on Thursday, they'll take on an Edina side with just six losses this season.
