Sports Illustrated Swimsuit announced Tuesday that former LSU gymnast Livvy Dunne is one of four cover stars for the 2025 edition. The publication revealed the cover featuring Dunne on Instagram.

“Woke up a 2025 Sports Illustrated cover model!” Dunne wrote on X.

The other cover stars are actress Salma Hayek Pinault, model, activist and entrepreneur Lauren Chan and Olympic medalist Jordan Chiles. Dunne, who retired from gymnastics competition last month, made her SI Swimsuit debut in 2023 and appeared again last year. Now her third consecutive year posing for SI Swimsuit, she’s a cover star. SI Swimsuit broke the news to Dunne while she was on vacation with family in Florida last week.

“Are you kidding me? Thank you so much. Oh my God, [SI Swimsuit editor in chief] MJ [Day], this is a dream come true,” Dunne said, via Ananya Panchal of SI Swimsuit. “I can’t believe it. Oh my god. That photo is so good. That is crazy, I am a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover model. This bikini … this was the one. I felt like such a baddie in it. This is the best day of my life. This is so exciting.”

She added, “It was the most beautiful place I have ever been. The whole experience was extraordinary. I know it was quick, but every single time we go to these places, and I shoot for these 24 hours, and it’s the quickest trip, you guys feel like family, truly. I have the best time, and it’s the most fun shoot I’ve ever done.”

Livvy Dunne’s stardom grows with Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover

Dunne has been one of the biggest stars in female sports over the past few years. She helped LSU win its first-ever gymnastics National Championship in 2024, outlasting CalUtah and Florida. Dunne competed eight routines on floor exercise during the 2023-24 season, matching her career-high of 9.9 on two occasions.

Earlier this month, the social media influencer served as the “Riders Up” announcer for the Kentucky Oaks at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky. In addition, her relationship with Pittsburgh Pirates RHP Paul Skenes has gained mainstream attention.

“Olivia Dunne’s why goes far beyond the floor and bars—it’s about changing the game for athletes everywhere. She was one of the first to leverage the power of name, image and likeness deals, building a brand that’s both financially successful and rooted in showing the real Livvy,” Day said. “She’s not just a social media sensation; she’s a pioneering force who has created opportunities for herself and, by extension, countless other athletes by demonstrating how to navigate the intersection of sports, business and digital influence.”
