LSU gymnast Livvy Dunne made over $500K in NIL, for one deal

LSU gymnast Livvy Dunne is a social media star just as much as she's a top athlete for the Tigers.

She has over 7.6 million followers on TikTok and 3.8 million on Instagram, meaning that a ton of people see her content. In the era of Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) deals, that has made Dunne a must-approach by brands and companies trying to advertise via college athletes.

On3, which tracks NIL deals, considers Dunne the second most profitable college athlete behind Bronny James, LeBron James's son. She has a NIL evaluation of $3.3 million. To be clear, that's not a tally of how much she's made so far. Rather, "the On3 NIL Valuation calculates the optimized NIL opportunity for athletes relative to the overall NIL market and projects out to as long as 12 months into the future."

Still, the proof is in the pudding with Dunne — she's everywhere, and she's worth a lot because of it. So much, in fact, that the gymnast recently revealed that she was paid over a half million for just one NIL deal.

“I usually don’t ever talk about money, but I would say – really for me, what I love about certain brands is getting long-term brand deals,” Dunne said on the Full Send Podcast (h/t On3). “Those are probably the best because you build a relationship with the brand and they want you year after year. Sometimes they will pay you more as the years go on. I just love building the relationship, but I would say six figures.”

Dunne was asked specifically if she's made over or under $500,000 on one single deal.

“Yeah, yeah, I’m very fortunate. It’s just crazy to me," she said.

And yes, it may seem crazy for someone to be getting $500,000 or more on an advertising deal for basically being an "influencer", but that's the world of college athletics as we know it in the NIL era.
