The 2025 College World Series finals are set. The LSU Tigers will face the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers in a fiery battle of two teams with tons of talent and grit. The Chants have won 26 games in a row, while the Tigers boast an elite roster and a relentless mantra.

Just before the series starts this weekend, both sides have poked a bit at each other when asked about their opponent. Bulletin board material? Potentially. Only time will tell.

The Chanticleers are not intimidated by anyone. They proved that once again on Friday during media availability.

When asked about what he likes about LSU, Coastal Carolina starting pitcher Jacob Morrison was incredibly honest. His response got some laughs from his teammates as well.

“Not a whole lot…we’re not really worried about the Tigers.”

Clearly, there's no love lost. At the same time, it did feel like the awkward silence from the question and Morrison's teammates' responses took a bit of heat off his answer. They were just being truth, though - simply as competitors.

We will see if Jay Johnson's club takes it a bit personal, though. Morrison is projected to start game two of the series against LSU.

Meanwhile, LSU's game one starting pitcher, Kade Anderson, had a hilarious response this week regarding Coastal. It didn't seem to be fueled by any sort of negativity, but Anderson admitted that he did not know where Coastal Carolina was located.

“I don’t even know if they’re in North Carolina or South Carolina, honestly.”

Both sides have a bit of funny, yet legitimate, smack talk that they could use as even more energy towards finishing the job. LSU is looking to get revenge on Coastal after the Chanticleers beat the Tigers in 2016 on their way to a national title.

At the same time, Jay Johnson is trying to win his second national championship on the diamond with LSU in the past three seasons. This series should be as entertaining as they come in college baseball.
