A fellow EuroBasket competitor explained why Los Angeles Lakers superstar Luka Doncic is so hard to guard.
Doncic is one of the premier offensive players in the game — capable of playmaking for himself and others at a high level. He is not one to press the issue; instead, he reads the defense and takes what they give him.
Despite not having overwhelming speed or athleticism, he uses his size to look over defenders and changes speeds well for someone his size.

Along with a deadly 3-point shot and floater, Doncic can create his own shot as he pleases.
Currently in Europe, Doncic is partaking in the EuroBasket, a tournament that features talent all across the continent playing for their nation of origin.
Doncic is representing Slovenia and hopes to achieve success for his country.
In the lead-up to the tournament, young Orlando Magic star Franz Wagner — playing for Team Germany — spoke with FIBA about what makes Doncic so special on offense.
“There are few players in the world as versatile or who can manipulate the game as well as he does offensively. You can’t just defend him with one player," Wagner said.
"You have to switch up the looks that you give him. And also be okay with him making some tough looks," Wagner added. "Just try to make it hard and play against him one against five. And sometimes be okay and tip your hat with some tough plays."
Wagner is not the only player on Germany to praise Doncic — Wagner's teammate Andreas Obst.
"He's a magician in a way. He can score the ball whenever he wants. He can also facilitate, make amazing passes to his teammates," Obst added.
"He reads the game amazingly and makes it look so easy.
"It's sometimes interesting to think about what's going on in his mind because it looks so easy. He scores a couple buckets and he has 30 points out of nowhere."

Over the summer, Doncic signed a massive extension with the Lakers, keeping him in Los Angeles for the foreseeable future.
While he has the respect of his peers, Doncic still needs the accolades and silverware to be regarded as one of the greats.
The Lakers will do whatever it takes to help Doncic win, though the Slovenian has the chance to claim a major milestone with his national team.
