Luka Doncic Missed Caitlin Clark Working As Photographer, But Is ‘Big Fan’

The Los Angeles Lakers went into Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Wednesday night and took care of business against the Indiana Pacers. The 137-130 final score is a little misleading, as the Lakers were in command the entire way.

And one familiar face who captured it all was Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark. Clark is the supernova star from the University of Iowa who has been compared to the NBA’s Stephen Curry, both in her play style and the impact she’s having on the WNBA and the women’s game in general.

But on Wednesday night, Clark was sitting amongst the photographers on the baseline in Indiana for the game against the Lakers.

Luka Doncic didn’t see her on the baseline, but praised Clark nonetheless for her on-court dominance.

“Not really much (of a relationship), but I’m a big fan for sure,” Doncic said on Spectrum SportsNet. “I watch a lot of games. Definitely her hooping, it’s great to watch. I for sure have to go to a game to see her.”

The Lakers put on an offensive clinic on Wednesday night against the Pacers, with Clark getting a front-row seat to see L.A. dominate the way they have many times this season.

Doncic led the way with 43 points, his fifth 40-point game in his last 11 contests. But it wasn’t just Doncic, as Austin Reaves scored 25 of his own, followed by LeBron James scoring 23 and starting center Jaxson Hayes — filling in for the injured Deandre Ayton — scoring 21 of his own and recording a double-double.

It was Hayes’ first 20-10 game as a member of the Lakers, and allowed the Lakers to get back on the winning track and close out a 5-1 road trip.

Caitlin Clark, more athletes become photographers

The Fever star has already proven herself to be elite on the court. She was an All-Star, All-WNBA First Team and Rookie of the Year in her first campaign, and looked to be even better in her second season had injuries not limited her to 13 games.

It seems her talents, though, go beyond the court. Her photographic abilities were out in full force on Wednesday night, as she incredibly captured both the Pacers and Lakers with ease. And she wouldn’t be the first star athlete to do something of this nature.

Ken Griffey Jr. famously picked up the camera after his playing career and turned it into a legitimate second prime. He’s photographed events like the Masters and the World Baseball Classic. Olympians Simone Biles and Suni Lee were credentialed photographers for an NFL game last season, as well.

Clark is still firmly in the beginnings of her professional playing career. However, she could already be lining up photography as her second line of work.
